Throw and catch. Find someone who will go out in the yard and play catch. Work on making sure you keep the ball high and tight near your shoulder and ear hole. Your weight should be 60% on your back foot and 40% on your front. Arm should go back and then come over the top and through. Eyes on your target. No sidearm and no dropping your arm and coming around and up to get to throwing motion.
Coach snaps ball to player in a simulated snap. Player steps with left foot back and then right foot back. Second step should be right foot planted into the the ground with weight properly distributed and ready to throw. We call this the "loaded" position.

The second step should be a gather step with our left foot. Do not click your heels together. The third step should be your right foot back and planted to be in the loaded position.

Player starts out on a line of any sort. Player works on footwork for drop backs. 2 step, 3 step, 3 step and hitching. Working on staying in a line throughout the drop. When whistle blows player throws the ball.
Player starts on line. The ball snaps and player will 3 step drop to cone. At cone, player will open up and sprint out to left or right keeping shoulders square to the line and looking down field. throwing the ball on the whistle.
